The technical details for this product states "Kit contains everything you need to make your own soy candles." This is NOT true! The instructions which come with the kit clearly states "Additional Items NEEDED for (but NOT included in) this kit:" and gives a list of ridiculous items you would have to coincidentally own. Such as a hot glue gun, standard thermometer to stick IN the hot wax, a double boiler or electric griddle, melting/pouring pot and a scale. Keep in mind on top of needing the melting pot, the double boiler, and the thermometer and long handed ladle or spoon it requires you to have (but doesn't include for you).. you also have to be okay with using these items with hot wax, which is a miserable thing to try remove from anything, let alone in large quantities. So if you just happen to have the extra equipment it calls for lying around that you don't mind dedicating to hot wax, great. I personally do not want/plan to go to spend the extra time and money on this equipment specifically for what I thought would be a fun, easy, and convenient ready to use kit. Obviously a horrible choice for beginners.

The Candles and Supplies "Soy Kit" is a great way to learn how to make Soy candles. My wife and I got the chance to use the kit last year and we were very impressed with how easy the kit made to make beautiful Soy container candles. We are experienced candle makers, but wish this kit was available when we were getting started. The kit includes the container wax, wicks, scent, dye, safety labels, instruction sheet, and instructional DVD. You will need your own pouring pot and miscellaneous equipment (thermometer, etc), which is detailed in the instructions and on the DVD. The instructional DVD also shows you exactly how to use the kit to get the best results. This kit is a great way to get started making candles as a hobby or side business as the skills you learn can be used to make other types of candles. Highly recommended!
