It has an unnatural and unclean smell, something akin to burning trash. If you like the clean smell of eucalyptus, keep searching because this isn't the candle for you. I love this candle. It has a real purifying scent to it without being overpowering. It has no toxins in it and uses a cotton wick. I gave several to a woman battling cancer to help her body relax and heal itself. I didn't want her using anything with petrochemicals or other nasties in it. I like to burn this one on my bedroom dresser, because that room gets less air flow and can sometimes feel "blah" and stagnant. This really freshens things up. It looks little in its little tin, but it burns a long time. The tin is handy to put little things in later when the candle is all used up. (The tin also makes it handy for travel and when you have a baby like mine who is a menace to all glass containers everywhere.) I am not normally a candle person. Got this for emergency use and felt it would be a nice scent for that purpose, when everybody is a bit down. Used it during a recent weather scare and was pleasantly surprised how well this one worked. Nice bright light and a long burn life. After reading up on it, I found it was also good for the environment, with all natural ingredients. Looking forward to getting more and giving candles a chance. :) All of Plantlife's candles are very aromatic. No black smoke and good for the environment. I love them Average Rating:  |

For $19.95 plus S&H, you would expect these to be of greater quality. I will never order candles from Amazon again. I am very disappointed in my purchase. I love to lite these when i am having a stressful day, they smell simply amazing and they are soy, so you can use the melted wax on your hands, which works great if you have really dry hands. would buy again! Bought them as a Christmas gift for my lady friend and she can't stop talking about them. I know when they are lit up at night exactly what she wants! They smell terrific! These candles smell nice and make the whole room scented. However, I don't think the burn time is as long as advertised. The lavender one has the best scent, in my opinion. The other ones are very citrus-y though, and make your house smell clean. They burn clean as well. Good product but a tad overpriced. If you are interested in wasting money - this is the product. After wasting money on several, I finally found one that fills the room. In fact, my candle is lit downstairs and I am upstairs and can smell it from here! It smells great too! Although the candle was a little smaller than I had anticipated (it did have the size listed in the description so that was my own miscalculation) it smells wonderful, is great for when meditating or trying to unwind. The product arrived early and had two little surprise gifts included that were certainly a very nice touch (and also smell wonderful). I would definitely buy from this company again. “If it lasts longer it’s okay with me” said a friend of mine once during a casual dinner. Take that comment for what you will, my friend could’ve meant a variety of things by it, but in general consumers prefer long lasting items to those that are short in life span. Soy candles last 30 to 50 percent longer then traditional candles. Your average 14 oz candle, similar to a Yankee candle large size, will last about 75 hours. If you were to have that candle be a soy candle, it would last over 100 hours and smell just as sweet as the traditional candles do.
Traditional candles are known to cause soot in and around the general area they are burning. For those that aren’t familiar with our friend soot, think grayish black smoky smelling fog that clouds the top of your candle jar, on your walls, and even on ones ceiling. Soot is caused by the toxic elements in the traditional candles that are released when ignited. Soy candles are all natural and do not contain any toxins, thus no soot will come of them.
Carcinogens are released into the air when a traditional candle is burning. Carcinogens can cause cancer, and other health related problems. New research is showing links between candles, charcoal, and other burning devices we use in our home lives as cancer causing. Research is just beginning on this issue; however it is a fact that soy candles do not produce carcinogens. When thinking about buying soy candles think of the old cliché, better safe than sorry.
