I purchased one of these little buggers as a gift and had them shipped straight to the person's house. My were they delighted. The candles are cute, give off a nice glow and are perfect for bedrooms without the fear of tipping them over and dying in a matress fire. I ordered another set because they were so happy with them and decided to bring them over. Alas, the next set I ordered (even thought it was from the same link and everything) was a different color. These were bright white and not the ivory pictured. I was going to order another set but it's not worth the nine dollars to me to find out if this was a glitch or just poor product dye lots. I'd even order them again for myself if I was just getting one set and not caring if the candles were white or ivory. Pros: -cute -realistic for the most part -fit nicely into just about any votive or hurricane lamp on account how small they are -look great on high up wall sconces -won't catch your house/cat/kids on fire -Very nice glow in a dark bedroom for mood lighting *wink wink Cons: -wow are they tiny! Make sure you're not expecting a normal sized candle -the batteries are expensive to replace -the color you order may not be the color you get -to me, on a low table where you can see inside the candle, the flame looks a little hokey

I really like these candles. Smaller than I expected (but I also paid no attention to the published dimensions). They look very realistic (thanks to the real wax) and definitely have a realistic glow and give off a surprising amount of light. The tip of the bulb does show over the edge of the little one, but really, who is looking at your candles that closely? I had them out for a get together and people couldn't tell they were fake until they looked directly down into them! Bonus: my cat can't burn off his whiskers on them! :)

I bought two sets of flameless candles at the same time, thinking that I would use them together. However, I am very disappointed in these candles and am returning them to Amazon. Things I didn't like: 1) It's not obvious from the picture, but these are little bitty candles, only two inches wide. From the picture I thought I was ordering regular-sized pillar candles, which are more like 3-4 inches wide, and much taller, too. 2) The website description says that these are "realistic" and "beautiful." They aren't either of those things. I was very disappointed. However, I adore the other flameless candles that I bought at the same time. These are cute candles they are very simillar to real candles. They have a pinkish/red tab on the bottom that has to be pulled out once the tabs are removed they turn on and have a switch on the bottom to turn on/off. I was though surprised at the size as they seem a little small even though the measurements on the description are acurate. All in all, I am pleased with these candles "especially" with small children I don't have to worry about any dangers as with flame candles. Also when on, they seem to have a brighter glow as opposed to real candles.

Found nearly the exact same thing at Walgreens for $5. Not long lasting, probably due to the Chinese made batteries.

I had intended to use these in all the windows of my 1930's Farm House this past Christmas, which was the Family Gathering place for Christmas 2009. However, you cannot leave them on 24-7, I barely saw the "flicker". They burned out too too fast for my need. Maybe I chose the wrong product for what I needed them for. So I can't be too critical of them. They do work well, and are handy to have. Just not for extended use....

I did not have the same problem with the candles not lighting up like some of the other customers did. But I do have one major complaint: these candles are terribly dim. The light emitted does not compare to that of a flamed candle. There is one major benefit to these though. I frequently fall asleep with the candles on. With these flameless candles, the fire hazard is eliminated. I guess it is a trade off.

For whatever reason these do not light a colored glass tea light holder attractively. The color of the glass disappears only to leave a rather ugly bar of yellow visible. I put these in several different holders only to get the same ugly putrid yellow look. Back to regular tea lights i guess. These are also quite dim as well. No warm glow.

OK, so some of the reviews panned this product because not all the lights worked. I ordered a set and, yes, some did not light at first try. BUT, it's a matter of making good contact with the battery - open the door to the battery compartment and fiddle with the contact points. With a minimum of fuss I got all 12 working. And, really, for the price it's a terrific deal! Buy the extra batteries and you'll be pleased for a long time!

My first reaction out of the box was how small they were. If you're going to buy these, I think you need to get out a measuring tape and do a reality check on how big these things actually are. I anticipated something bigger. That was not these. I've never seen a real life candle in this size. They look like a childs version of the real thing.

These were a gift for someone, and they were very well-liked. I was told they work well.

I set these candles on a candelabra in my fireplace. They are stunning, have a better glow then the real candles which were previously in the fireplace. I don't need to worry about candle wax or other problems related to real candles.

While I've seen other flameless candles in store, I never saw these very sweet, petite candles. Only downside they take a circular battery, not an AAAA or AAA. But really lovely size and realistic.

I'll never buy a 'real' candle again. No flames and no smoke to scorch your walls/ceilings. The scent is very subtle but the light is just right. The flickering is very realistic. It's worth the price.

These candles are so realistic. I ordered two of them. I have one of them on my table in the dining room and the other one on the mantle. You really cannot tell that they are not real candles. The glow on the fireplace flickers on the wall just like real candles. The first ones I ordered came in cracked. I called Amazon and they told me to mail them back and they would replace them. They were fantastic. I got the next ones in two days, and they were perfect. I am so pleased with the candles and Amazon.

Great candle, flickers like real and there are no worries using it. The only small distraction is the center part that flickers is not like a flame so it's best to put the candle where you can't look down into it.

Great looking and smelling candle no flame to worry about. My daughter loves candles but I'm very nervous about fire so this is a great solution.

Enjoy Lighting does a really good job of making this candle look real by using real wax to make it. The light on the candle is perfect to set the mood or just to relax. There are 2 settings for the light - dim and flicker. I would recommend this candle to anyone who's worried about burning down their house!

I purchased two of these types of candles from this manufacturer. I threw them both in the garbage. The electronics were ok, and the appearance was not bad. But the smell was horrible! These are way over-scented. Smelled up my whole place like someone dumped over a bottle of cheap perfume. I had to toss them.

This is a great replacement candle for real burning candles. The light is actually low in the top of the candle so it looks so real. There are two lighting switches - low and high. It feels like an actual wax pillar candle. The main reason I bought this was because I was worried about the open flame of candles. My cat walks around everything and with this candle I don't have to worry about him getting burned.

I have seen or purchased other battery-operated candles before, and never felt truly satisfied with the imitation/performance/appearance. This is the first candle that I felt was "the one" . . . now the "problem" is, I want several more! I want it in other colors! As mentioned in another review, I would simply recommend that it not be placed in a position where guests will look "down into it," as of course, they would see it's not a real candle. But the lighting mechanism is improved from others I have seen, and at least with the burgundy colored candle, it doesn't look fake when it's lit. I can't comment on other colors thusfar. But prior to this one, I had another (i.e., made by another company) that had a light (flame) that was so yellowish, it just didn't look at all real when turned on. I have a feeling that the darker color helps because I had one that was an ivory color (again, made by a different company, not Enjoy Lighting), and the ivory color in particular allowed the overly-yellow-gold color to be more readily seen through the wax of the candle. So, it just lent itself to a more "fake" look. But this one does look far more real. The lighting mechanism is improved from a prior one I had, too, because the lights are encased in a dome-shaped plastic that gives it a more "lit" feel. I really love it and am presently devising other places where I can put them! Can't say enough, love the way it looks and the smell! The best one I've seen yet!

These are made of real wax, and they look like real candles. The light is provided by a little nest of LED lights, that flicker by moving the bright point around, so that the light they cast e.g. on the wall moves and flickers just like the real thing. And they smell good, too. All-in-all, I'm highly impressed.

This is a very nice product but the heat from the bulbs melted the plastic holder after a few hours of use, fusing it to the metal stand. It's not a problem for the time being because I still have oil in the holder but I shudder to think what will happen when I have to add more oil.

attractive diffuser and pleasant flameless candle; does not seem to heat enough to diffuse aroma very far into room, however.

Looks great on the counter in my bathroom, not too big or too small, just right. Go out and buy your own oils as the ones that came with the kit do not have a strong scent.

My wife received this as a gift. It's a bit mesmerizing watching the flicker. On three occasions we've put a small bit of oil in the aluminum cup and noticed a short while later that the cup was empty, yet oily on its underside. Some quick detective work determined that the stamping of "CAUTION HOT" in the aluminum had been too zealous and the letter "A" was actually perforating the metal. Oil can therefore leak out and contact the heating resistor directly. This resistor is over 200 degrees F and I would assume this is not a safe condition. I have contacted Homedics and left a message on their customer service line. For now, we'll use it as a candle. Perhaps I can find another tea light that will fit in the holder. Nice item, but may be a safety hazard.

I purchased this item after seeing it at a friends home. I loved the way it looked and the scent diffused in the room nicely. I purchased my own and just love it. For the scent to be most effective,use 100% pure essential oils and put a few drops of oil on the rocks and over the plastic cover above the oil well. The scent lasts and lasts. 5-6 drops of oil lasts at least 18 hrs. More cost effective than candles and way prettier. Peppermint oil is best, the scent is strong enough to diffuse nicely and its very uplifting. Enjoy

These battery-operated candles have a realistic flame provided by LCD lamps. The plastic case that makes up the body of the candle is not as well done. The artificial wax drips and melted candle edging are not effective in disguising that it is plastic rather than wax. However, placed in a window for Christmas or placed where it is viewed from a distance, it does a credible job in looking like a real candle. These candles are an excellent choice when used in a setting where the plastic case is not obvious.

I love this flameless candle, It requires 4-AA batteries. I wish the battery installation instructions were on the bottom of the candle indicating, - negative and + positive but they are on a separate tiny piece of paper. I find the candle safe to use and helps create a romantic atmosphere.

I love this candles! At first I didn't think it would look realistic, but it flickers like a real candle and especially looks real at night! I don't have to worry about my dogs jumping up on the table and knocking it over making a mess or worse! Also its great outside because the wind can't blow it out. The drips on the outside of the candle look neat like melting wax but I don't have to worry about cleaning up wax on the floor! I can't seem to have enough I have at least one in every room, they also come in handy as a night light and flashlight. Also be sure to get the eneloop rechargeable batteries that way you can always have your candles on and not worry about throwing out batteries!! check out Depoteco for great prices!!

It really was very in-expensive so you really can't complain about this product. That being said they could have made the area where you blow the candle out white instead of black because it's already obvious where you should blow. They are on the smaller side which is okay if that is what you are looking for.

I bought these from another purveyor for a little more than what Amazon is charging. I am not at all disappointed in them. In fact, having seen them in person, I would have willingly paid more for them. What I loved: They are real wax, so they look like REAL candles, not like imitations. The flame is subtle and looks real. Not bright and distracting, just very gentle. The tray and candles together with the stones cost a fraction of what it would be to buy the candles and accessories individually. There is no concern about small children getting into the live flame, and they can sit safely under a window with curtains. The flames "Blow" off and on, which has provided lots of entertainment for my small children. Comments: The candles that I bought were not fragranced. Perhaps the person who got candles with fragrance had gotten them from somewhere that they were stored with other fragranced items. Mine had no smell whatsoever. One person said that the battery only lasts for about 12 hours of "burn" time, but ours have already lasted much longer than that. The "blow on/blow off" feature requires that you blow directly into the top of the candle. A small gust of air across the surface isn't going to turn them off that easily. The stones in the package were more than sufficient to cover the spaces around the candles. Many sets I've tried before are pretty skimpy. Also, for Christmas, we took out the stones and surrounded the candles with miniatures ornaments to match the living room decor. Overall, I am very pleased with these for the price.

This item caught my eye because it's battery driven and eliminates the fear of forgetting to douse the flame. It gives off a realistic light for those moments of meditation and solitude. The price is also most reasonable.

I purchased one of these candles from a local store. It was SUPPOSED to smell like green apple. I let it "burn" for 3 hours and after that time I lit a real pine candle. Within 10 minutes I could smell pine and never did smell green apple. If I were asked "should I buy this?" I couldn't give it enough negative stars to help your decision.

Okay, the looks of these are great, it'll match into anything you put them in. As for the lighting, it doesn't light as much as you think it would in those pictures. They do flicker like real candles, but blowing em on and off can be a LITTLE hassle. If you look under the candles, you see the battery compartment. Yes, it takes batteries (runs out if you use leave your candles on 12 hours). But when you switch it between "off" and "on. BE CAREFUL. One of my switches were back in the candle and when I try to switch it, it pushes back. Now I have to keep that candle on and make sure wind doesn't turn it on by it self (we have a ceiling fan)
